The Perseverance Scholarships have been founded by PHS alumni who have raised funds and partnered with Google to match those funds through the Benevity Program. As alumni of Pioneer who graduated as Silicon Valley was just forming, we have a strong understanding that the quality of perseverance is of the utmost importance in success.
While the Athletic Perseverance Scholarship in the amount of $500 is awarded specifically to a senior athlete, the general scholarship in the amount of $2,000 is open to the entire senior class. We are specifically looking to award this scholarship to a student who is both in financial need to realize their educational goals and has demonstrated the characteristic of perseverance.
The Perseverance scholarship will be awarded in full upon receipt of proof of attendance at a university, trade school, or community college. The awardee will present their dated course schedule to phsperseveranceaward@gmail.com no later than December 15, 2024 and collect the check.
The awardee may be contacted to provide information on how the scholarship helped them reach their goals prior to the fundraising dinner the following year. This may be in the form of an email, video, or phone interview with a Perseverance committee member.
